Online Optimization

In real applications we often have optimization problems, where decisions have to be made dynamically and continuously. That means we have to fix certain decisions on the basis of the data and information, which are available at that moment. And we cannot postpone the decision until all data are known. In most of the cases the Online-Optimizer disposes of a certain advantage and stock of informations resp. data about the future. We call the amount of these data the information advantage. This research project deals with the question, how much the quality of the decisions will increase (on the average) if we increase that information-advantage.
