„Where are we going? Well, home. Don Quijote returning home to German Romanticism.

This project deals with the literary trip in a triadic structure consisting of departure – encounter with the foreign – return and aims to disclose a connection between Don Quijote by Cervantes and Heinrich von Ofterdingen by Novalis via Franz Sternbalds Wanderungen by Tieck. This literary trip reflects the respective period and renders the return of Ofterdingen an analogy to the reflective figure of early romantic poetry.
