Value Orientation in Business Process Management

Value-based BPM is a paradigm where all business activities and decisions related to the design, analysis, and change of processes are valued according to their contribution to the company value. What is unique about value-based BPM is that it extends the portfolio of research methods traditionally used in BPM by quantitative approaches from financial valuation and decision analysis. An economically well-founded objective function provided, value-based BPM helps reveal general economic relationships that govern business process change and helps derive recommendations relevant for industry and the construction of innovative artifacts.
