PhD Program/Integrated research

Those interested in applying for a doctorate are advised to have their university degree checked by the appropriate faculty with regard to admission. In general only highly qualified applicants who have achieved a certain minimum required grade in their final examinations can be admitted to doctoral studies.

Further information can be found in the doctoral degree regulations of the appropriate faculty. In addition you will need to arrange a PhD supervisor/professor to supervise your doctoral thesis. You should contact a professor direct as soon as possible to answer individual enquiries. As a final decision on acceptance for a doctorate can usually only be given after active participation in seminars and courses, a certain trial period will be necessary. In view of the above, you should expect to take at least three years and usually longer to complete a doctorate.

We regret that the University of Augsburg is not in a position to grant scholarships for doctorates.
