Delegate for the Equal Treatment of Men and Women

The duties of the Delegate for the Equal Treatment of Men and Women are defined in the Bavarian Act on the Equal Treatment of Men and Women (BayGIG). As opposed to the tasks of the Women’s Delegate of the University, the Delegate for the Equal Treatment of Men and Women is responsible for the entire non-academic staff of the University of Augsburg. She ensures that the Bavarian Act on the Equal Treatment of Men and Women is applied and supports the University administration in its implementation. Her main duties consist in working toward the realisation of the equal treatment of men and women, the compatibility of family and work life and the securing of equal opportunities.

Being the contact partner for all matters in respect of the equal treatment of men and women, she is involved in designing job advertisements and participates in job placements, maintains contacts with staff in parental leave, advises the parents on questions with regard to work resumption, part-time work or childcare, and further offers conflict counselling and help in cases of sexual harassment. She also takes complaints arising in connection with the General Law on Equal Treatment (AGG).

She participates in networks such as Health Management at Augsburg University, attends conferences for Women’s Delegates of the University and the Delegates for the Equal Treatment of Men and Women on federal and state level as well as regional and supra-regional workshops.
