name of project Situated and Personalization in Customer-Centred Information Systems (SIPKIS)
start 2002
end 2007
description An apparently endless number of financial services are offered on the internet. But as soon as the customer needs competent advice, for example on a pension scheme or even on an individualized investment suggestion, the variety of offers comes to a sudden end. A further problem is the extent of the possible advice: On the one hand the customer is delighted with an apparently profitable offer, on the other hand his or her personal needs, wishes and interests, through also financial and social restrictions are usually not taken into account. Only individualized, personalized and situated financial advice can bring the best results for the customer.

In SIPKIS I, we developed a generic concept for individualized advisories in the financial services sector and implemented a prototype for individualized retirement advisories. Lots of the results were transferred successfully into practical use.

In SIPKIS II we analyzed, how situations and roles, that are relevant for individualized advisory, can be categorized, which effect they have on the advisory and how they should be integrated into our concept for individualized advisories. Additionally the identification of efficient portfolios in a multi-objective decision situation was focussed. For this purpose we developed a heuristic based on evolutionary algorithms.
