To provide a network platform for our highly qualified FIM students and to ensure a practical education for them, one of the key factors of the Finance & Information Management Program is a close cooperation with renowned business partners. Therefore we offer interested companies a variety of ways to cooperate. Hereby companies will be able to get in contact with the students as early as possible on the way towards graduation. Thus an intense network between students and companies can be achieved. In order to ensure that the individual needs and aims of each partner can be met, prospective partners can choose from different cooperation options that are outlined in the following. Of course these elements can be adapted according to the partners individual situation and further options can be added. We would be pleased to discuss options for an individual way of cooperation with your company.

All participating business partners of the program agree to sponsor the Finance & Information Management Program with an annual contribution. In return the company’s logo will be published in conjunction with the Finance & Information Management Program and the partner becomes a member of the Advisory Board. By participating with our program each company may take part in the curriculum and e.g. design lectures or seminars for the students. Furthermore each partner is entitled to provide internships as well as to offer personal mentoring for the students. One part of the annual allowance will be dedicated to the conception and development of the program. Beyond that, every partner decides individually how the other part of his engagement will be used. The optional elements described below are examples for the configuration of your sponsoring package. It is part of the agreement that partners, who take more responsibility, obtain priority over those, who are less engaged (e.g. when choosing students for scholarships, internships or theses).

To give students of the Elite Graduate Program the opportunity to concentrate on their studies and the development of their skills particularly gifted students should receive financial aid in terms of a scholarship. In return, the supported students will commit themselves to complete an internship at the sponsoring company. Based on our experience at the University of Augsburg we can affirm that those scholarships created very intense relationships between students and companies and that in this way the foundations of a subsequent cooperation can be laid most effectively.
In close cooperation with the scientists in the program the students are to work on ambitious projects for their theses. Therefore it is expressly desired to work - beyond scientific issues - on projects in close cooperation with business partners. By addressing a challenging project to one of the students in the Elite Graduate Program business partners receive a top-quality composition that is approved by the supervising scientist and thus comparable to a survey of a consultant.
To design a nationally and internationally acknowledged and highly esteemed program the additional integration of internationally renowned scientists is essential. Business partners coming up for the costs of a visiting lecturer allow thus that the students learn from excellent lecturers first-hand the state-of-the-art of science.
Compact courses and summer schools are an integral element of the Elite Graduate Program. In this context are a variety of opportunities for Business Partners to get in touch with the high-potentials. Courses on presentation techniques, media competence or soft skills could be integrated as well as excursions. Business partners may either design those events by themselves or sponsor an existing one.
Another option for business partners is to facilitate compact courses by providing their convention centers. By this sponsoring business partners enable the students to learn in a professional atmosphere.
