Approach to Augsburg

Augsburg is located approximately 60 km northwest of Munich and is well attainable by car, train and airplane.

Approach by car

By means of the autobahn A8 you reach the university both coming from Stuttgart and coming from Munich. Leave the autobahn at the exit “Augsburg West” and follow the B17 in direction “Landsberg”. After approx. 10 min you reach the exit “Messe-UNI, ZOO”. Leave the highway here and turn right at the first traffic light (after approx. 200 m) in order to reach the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Augsburg.

Approach by train

A connection just as fast and comfortable is offered by the Deutsche Bahn. Augsburg is attainable from each large European city with the IC and/or ICE at least once a day. You can find the train connections of Deutsche Bahn at www.bahn.de.

Starting from the main station you can reach the University with the tram line 3 starting directly outside the main station. Continue driving in direction “Inninger Straße” up to the stop “Universität” (approx. 20 min). For further information on the public transport in
Augsburg please visit www.avv-augsburg.de.

Approach by plane

From the airport München-Erding you can take a transfer service directly to Augsburg or you can take the tram lines 1 and 8 to the main station in Munich. From Munich there are train connections to Augsburg every 15 minutes. From the main station Augsburg onward please follow the description approach by train.
