Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung:

If you want to have a professional training in conflict management then come to the graduate school intensive course “Conflict Resolution!” Whether you plan on working in a university setting or in any other line of work, conflicts are and will always be part of our daily work life. In addition, we find ourselves involved in conflicts or negotiations on a regular basis in our private lives at home. Even a quick run to the store or a meal in a restaurant can result in a conflict and require us to negotiate. This course on conflict resolution will help you understand the principles, strategies, and skills of negotiation and conflict resolution. We will use the “Harvard Method” and work on related role-plays based on the Harvard approach to improve your performance through a constructive and confident win-win approach.


During the course, you will participate in multiple interactive sessions including discussions, exercises, role-plays and assessment of those role plays. By the end of the course, you will be able to focus on win-win solutions and understand the process involved in the Harvard Method. Because all of the information and negotiations will be in English, you will not only be able to practice your English, but also be able to learn some useful English vocabulary necessary for professional negotiations. Furthermore, you will become aware of important intercultural aspects to be considered and respected when negotiating with international partners. The course is taught by a native English speaker with years of intercultural and communication training experience.
