Patients who have been hospitalized due to an acute depressive episode are at high risk for recurrent depressive episodes. Continuous monitoring—including early detection of deterioration and adjustments to treatment—can significantly improve care for those affected.

Insitu focuses on outpatient care for patients following hospitalization due to a depressive episode. Insitu is developing a system that enables patients to interact with a voice-activated system. During this interaction, multimodal data is collected and used to assess the patients’ condition.

Within insitu, DSENS developes methods to determine various vital signs and the patients’ affective state based on video data and making this information available to the overall system.
