Das Zentrum für Internationale Friedenseinsätze (ZIF) hat ein " Compendium of Good Practice and Innovative Peacebuilding Approaches at the Local Level" erstellt, in dem auch das Transferzentrum Frieden Augsburg (TFA) ( Peace Transfer Center [PTC]) beschrieben wird. Das Kompendium bündelt innovative Peacebuilding-Praktiken und lokale Beispiele, die Argumente für Friedensförderung liefern und eine Grundlage für faktenbasierte Advocacy schaffen.

Compendium of Good Practice and Innovative Peacebuilding Approaches at the Local Level

The Pact for the Future adopted by UN Member States in September 2024 emphasises the need for bolstering peacebuilding and prevention. A frequent recommendation is to adopt “localised” approaches, i.e. to work more closely with actors, organisations and constituencies at the local level to anchor peacebuilding in local communities, build resilience and increase the chances of sustainable impact.

The Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) has engaged the Berlin based Peacebuilding Community of Practice (CoP) for the compilation of good practices and concrete examples of local-level programmes and initiatives that contribute to strengthening or developing peace infrastructures and promote local engagement for sustainable peacebuilding.

With a broad range of activities and contributions ranging from Armenia to Germany to Thailand and Zimbabwe, the compendium crafts convincing narratives and forms a resource base for evidence-based advocacy. The various approaches to engage communities, including through the use of existing social spaces, technology and performance art, illustrate a wide range of possibilities that aim at giving people agency over building lasting peace – in their communities and beyond. We hope that the projects and activities in the compendium will serve as inspiration and encouragement for their peacebuilding engagements as well.
