Projektskizze

Peer feedback is an effective way to support learning. This dissertation project investigates the degree of adaptivity of peer feedback as a potentially crucial factor in determining its effectiveness. So far, this concept is rather unexplored in peer feedback research. A first empirical study will investigate how different operationalizations of adaptivity affect different quality indicators and outcomes of peer feedback . Subsequently, two experimental studies will be conducted in order to investigate potential ways of scaffolding the formulation of adaptive peer feedback. This project strives to thereby identify much-needed ways to improve the quality of peer feedback by matching the feedback message and the skill level of the recipient. This perspective has implications for the application of peer feedback in pedagogical contexts, mainly for scaffolding.
