Ancient Egyptian materials in museum collections can provide insights into provenance, material characterization, and conservation, but often require a noninvasive and multimodal approach. Through the application of methodological approaches such as multispectral imaging and spectroscopic techniques (XRF, FORS), a collection of late Middle Kingdom unfired clay execration figurines from Saqqara and a Third Intermediate Period polychrome wooden coffin fragment have been studied. The outcomes of this study highlight the ability to either determine the provenance of the raw materials or reveal previously undetected characteristics of these types of archaeological objects.
