Conference „Transformations after the transformation:Central Asia in focus of human geography and social sciences“

The Chair of Humangeography and Transformation Research organizes the conference „Transformations after the transformation:Central Asia in focus of human geography and social sciences“. The conference will take place on the 7th and 8th of February in the Wissenschaftszentrum Umwelt (WZU).

The countries and societies of Central Asia are characterized by external and internal processes and dynamics that constantly raise new research problems and questions. Whether modernization processes and social change, digitization and technological innovations, climate change and degradation of natural areas or the Belt and Road Initiative and thus changes in geopolitics, exchange and communication relations as well as the challenges, problems and opportunities associated with these dynamics for Central Asia . The aim of the conference is to bring together Central Asian researchers from the field of social sciences (human geography, anthropology, political and economic sciences, etc.) to exchange ideas, concepts and insights.  Current tasks and research questions related to Central Asia will be discussed.

As a contribution to expenses and for the lunch snack we charge a conference fee of 25 Euro, reduced fee of 15 Euro for PhD students and 5 Euro for students. Please provide proof of your status for the reduced fee.
