The Geography Student Association warmly welcomes you to the University of Augsburg! Starting your studies is exciting but also challenging, and often raises many questions. To help you quickly find your way around the university and your studies, we organize our own program for you in addition to the university’s official orientation events. This gives you the opportunity to get to know the campus, the city, and, of course, student life in Augsburg better. Our events also offer a great opportunity to meet your new classmates and make your first connections.
 
These events are generally open to all students at the Department of Geography, whether you’re pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or teacher training degree. You can find specific information about our Welcome Week events on our website at  Events or on our  Instagram-Account.

In addition to the orientation sessions, we also offer individual academic and course schedule counseling to complement the official programm. If you’re unsure which courses to take or how to put together your schedule, we’re happy to help - just stop by and talk to us at one of our events during Welcome Week or send us an E-Mail.

During the winter semester, we also host our Geohütte, where we spend a weekend together in the Allgäu with all interested freshmen. Through icebreaker games, cooking together, and cozy evenings, you’ll have the chance to get to know each other better outside of the usual university routine.
