Originally, I am from Schleswig-Holstein, but moved to Hannover in 2010 to pursue my Bachelor‘s and Master‘s degree in Biochemistry at the Hannover Leibniz University and the Hannover Medical School. In 2016, I started my PhD in the Büttner group focusing on glycan analytics in human stem cells. During this time, I successfully applied multiplexed capillary gel electrophoresis coupled to laser-induced fluorescence detection (xCGE-LIF) for the analysis of glycosphingolipid-derived glycans – an approach that had not been possible before. This initiated numerous collaborations and new research directions. One of these projects led to the identification of the glycan epitope type 1 N-acetyllactosamine (Lc4) as a biomarker in human pluripotent stem cells in my early postdoctoral work. Since 2024, I have been working as an Academic Councilor at the Proteomics Core Facility at the University of Augsburg, where my research now focuses on protein analytics using mass spectrometry. Outside of work, I really enjoy dedicating my free time to my friends and family, including my husband and three small children. To maintain balance, I enjoy yoga and working out.
