Julia is a biochemist exploring glycomics and proteomics, with a focus on glycosphingolipids and glycoproteins in early human development and rare diseases like CDGs. She studied Biochemistry at the Martin-Luther University in Halle (Saale) and Hannover Medical School, completing her PhD in the Büttner team. In 2024, she joined the Augsburg site to establish the new laboratory facilities in Garching near Munich. She enjoys attending conferences to exchange ideas and discover new approaches.

Outside the lab, you’ll find her hiking, skiing, cycling, or swimming — basically anywhere with fresh air and a view.
