Admission requirements & further information
a) Bachelor thesis:
The prerequisite for writing a bachelor thesis is the successful participation in the lecture "Grundlagen des Controlling" and/or the seminar "Ausgewählte Themen im Controlling" or "Controlling im internationalen Kontext". Applicants who have successfully attended both the lecture "Grundlagen des Controlling" and one of our seminars will be given preference in the selection process. While this alone does not guarantee you a place to write a thesis at our chair, you have a guaranteed a place, if you completed one of the two seminars with a very good grade (1.0 or 1.3).
The bachelor thesis consists of 27-33 pages. The processing time is 2 months.
In addition, the chair recognizes courses that have been successfully taken abroad and are similar in content to the course "Grundlagen des Controlling". We check these courses individually. For bachelor students who have been accepted, there is a mandatory information event. Further information and the exact date will be announced together with the acceptance letter.
Please note: Unfortunately, it is not possible to write a bachelor thesis in cooperation with a company at our chair.

In order to deepen your knowledge, it is advantageous to attend one of our seminars "Topics in Behavioural Controlling", "Controlling in der Praxis" and/or "Methoden der Controllingforschung", but this is not an exclusion criterion. Nevertheless, please note that not all applicants can get a place to write their master thesis at our chair.
The master thesis consists of 50-60 pages. The processing time is 4 or 6 months, depending on the topic.
Master students writing their thesis at our chair can voluntarily participate in an information event on scientific work and/or in the "Master colloquium". Further information can be found here.
