The Chair of American Studies organized the international conference "Censorship and Exile", which was also co-hosted by the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum.

How can research on exile and censorship be interlinked in a mutually stimulating way? Scholars from the University of Augsburg and the University of Texas at Austin examined this issue at their joint conference "Censorship & Exile", which took place at the University of Augsburg from May 23rd to May 25th, 2013. This was the first project in the context of the framework of cooperation established between the two universities in 2012.
