The Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum, in collaboration with the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR), organised an information event on the new EU research framework programme "Horizon 2020" which was held on 24 October 2013. The event focused on funding opportunities within the Research Framework Programme for social scientists, economists and researchers in the humanities.

 

The following speakers were invited:

 

  • Dr. Wolfgang Thiel (Head of Department for Social Sciences, Economic Sciences and Humanities, BayFOR)
  • Dr. Alexander Widmann (Department for Social Sciences, Economic Sciences and Humanities, BayFOR)
  • Larissa Kramny, M.A. (Department for Social Sciences, Economic Sciences and Humanities, BayFOR)
  • Prof. Dr. Peter Kraus (Professorship for Comparative Political Science, University of Augsburg)
  • Anna-Maria Luger (Referat IV/3, Research and European Affairs, University of Augsburg)

The European Commission's new research framework programme "Horizon 2020", which starts in 2014, has a budget of 70 billion euros for a period of 7 years. The first calls for proposals are expected in winter 2013/14.
