Target group:

The Summer School is for future teachers. So it is targeted for motivated Teacher Education students (State exam, Bachelor, Master) from the international A.LEAP network. The programme is open to further students if there is sufficient capacity. Please contact us.

The International Summer School is partly interdisciplinary, partly disciplinary-oriented. It is aimed primarily at students of the disciplines Civic Education, English Language Education, Geography Education, German Language Education, History Education, Physics Education, Physical Education and Religious Education (catholic).

The Summer School is in English language. It is expected that the participants have a sufficient command of the English language to actively participate in the discussions and to present their own work in English.

Participation fee / Costs:

There are no participation fees.

Students from the A.LEAP partner universities from abroad receive a flat rate of minimum €330 from the University of Augsburg as support. The exact amount depends on your home country. Approximately €170.00 of this are for accommodation including breakfast in the Augsburg Youth Hotel. The remaining amount will be refunded to you after the Summer School. Food and drinks will be provided according to the programme.

Process of application:

Registration is open till 01/05/2026. After 01/05/2026 contact us via internationalisierung@zlbib.uni-augsburg.de to sign in, please. Please let us know about your interests in the workshops, so we can consider it in allocating you to a workshop. We will inform you about your participation and provide you with further information after registration.

Cancellation policy

Please remember that you may have taken the place of another person interested in attending and consider carefully whether cancellation is necessary. Cancellation is possible under the following conditions: Cancellation until 15/05/2026 is free of charge. Cancellation of participation after 15/05/2026, we will have to charge you for the costs incurred for accommodation and breakfast at the Augsburg Youth Hostel (see above), unless a replacement can be found. It is therefore in your interest to name a student who will attend the summer school in your place.

Exclusion clause

The International Summer School sees itself as a contribution to intercultural exchange. The organizers reserve the right to make use of their domiciliary rights and to deny access to the event to persons who belong to right-wing extremist parties or organizations, who are as-sociated with the right-wing extremist scene or who have already appeared in the past through racist, nationalist, anti-Semitic or other inhuman statements or to exclude them from the event.
