To earn the “Certificate in University Teaching of the Bavarian Universities,” 120 credit units must be earned. 95 credit units can be earned in areas A–E according to the distribution listed below. Participants earn an additional 25 credit units by attending elective courses from the ProfiLehre program. The issuance of the certificate of participation and, consequently, the crediting of the corresponding credit units are contingent upon full attendance at the seminar.

As a transitional measure, the old regulations still apply to instructors who took advantage of the continuing education program prior to the 2022/23 winter semester. Under these regulations, 10 credit hours must be completed in Area D, and 40 credit hours in an area of their choice

Applications for the “Certificate in University Teaching from Bavarian Universities” can be submitted informally to the ProfiLehre contact persons: profilehre@qa.uni-augsburg.de

The certificate is issued in both German and English.

In addition, you have the option of earning the a Certificate in Medical Education from the Bavarian Universities.

An important note from us: Courses taken through ProfiLehre can be counted toward the Medical Education Certificate. However, it is not possible to receive dual certification for these certificates! This means that courses you have counted toward the “Certificate in University Teaching at Bavarian Universities” cannot be used toward the “Medical Education Certificate.”
