Language Skills
Required Language Skills
Depending on the courses that you wish to take at the University of Augsburg, you must provide the following proof of your language skills:
- Academic courses taught in German: German language skills at level B2
- Academic courses taught in English: English language skills at level B2 and basic German language skills
- Exclusively German language courses (no academic courses offered by university faculties): German language skills at level B1
Accepted Proof of Language Skills
The following certificates (issue date not older than 2 years) may be accepted:
German language skills at level B2 (CEFR):
- DSH (DSH1)
- DaF (TDN3)
- onDaF (110 - 115)
- DSD (DSD II)
- Goethe / TELC / ÖSD (B2)
- WeltWeit-Sprachnachweis* (B2)
German language skills at level B1 (CEFR):
- onDaF (75 - 80)
- DSD (DSD I)
- Goethe / TELC / ÖSD (B2)
- WeltWeit-Sprachnachweis* (B1)
Basic German Skills:
- Confirmation of completion of a beginner’s level German course
- Confirmation of registration for a beginner’s level German course by the time of application to the WeltWeit program
*WeltWeit Language Certificate:
Are you unable to provide one of these official certificates? If this is the case, let your German professor proctor a short exam for the WeltWeit Language Certificate .
English language skills at level B2 (CEFR):
- TOEFL iBT (72 - 94)
- TOEFL ITP (543 - 626)
- IELTS (5.5 - 6.5)
- TOIEC (400 - 485 listening, 385 - 450 reading)
- Cambridge Certificate (minimum B2 First)
