The programme imparts a wide range of competences in the field of English-speaking countries. It introduces you to the working methods and subjects of linguistics, literature and cultural studies. In addition to the ability to conduct independent academic work, the degree programme imparts a high level of language competence as well as knowledge of political and cultural institutions and literatures; you will also gain insights into the social and economic structure of Anglophone countries. Traditional philological study content is combined in English/American Studies with new topics and competences that open up a broad professional spectrum.
