Study content:

This study programme builds on a relevant Bachelor's programme and deepens the competences acquired there. The Master's programme consists of the main subject mathematics and exactly one subsidiary subject. Possible subsidiary subjects are economics, computer science, physics, geography and philosophy. The Master's degree establishes that students have in-depth subject knowledge in mathematics and the ability to work independently and critically according to modern scientific methods.

  2. Bachelor’s degree certificate or comparable degree as a simple copy
    If the certificate is not yet available, proof must be provided of the exam results in this programme, the number of currently accumulated credit points in your studies and the required number of credit points for achieving a degree in your study programme (Transcript of Records). Students of the University of Augsburg are asked to request this certificate via email from the Studierendeninformationsbüro ( ssc@zv.uni-augsburg.de). You will be notified via your e-mail address as soon as the certificate can be collected or has been sent by post. 

  3. Statement ( Form ) on when die missing exams will be taken and when the pplication for the Bachelor thesis will be completed.
  4. Curriculum vitae in table form
  5. Optionally, proof of further exam results can be attached that have been achieved during relevant studies or other relevant further education procedures.
  6. Optionally, proof of all practice-relevant activities, such as internships, activities as a working student, training.

Proof for points 2, 5 and 6 can be submitted as simple copies. The overviews over your grades and the calculation of your average grade must be submitted in the original.

 

Information for applicants who at the time of their application (before 31.07 for the winter semester and before 31.01. for the summer semester) cannot yet prove that they have completed their Bachelor’s degree, but have acquired at least 85% of the credit points need for completing the degree successfully:

  1. Until the time of admission 01.10. (respectively 01.04.) all missing exams should have been taken and passed.
  2. Immediately after all missing performances have been completed and the Bachelor thesis has been registered, an officially confirmed list of all performances completed and of the registration of the Bachelor thesis must be submitted to the chair.

  2. Bachelor’s degree certificate or comparable degree as certified copy or certified translation by a translator sworn in Germany, if the originals are not written in German, English or French. (Please note: China, Vietnam and Mongolia only with original APS certificate).
    If the certificate is not available, proof of the exam results achieved in this degree programme, the number of credit points included in the calculation of the average grade, as well as the number of credit points required for the completion of the corresponding degree programme must be enclosed (Transcript of Records), which must also be available in a certified translation
