Diamond Research on Interfaces for Versatile Electronics

9) The proposed Marie Curie Research Training Network (RTN) "DRIVE" will be focussed on the structural and electronic properties of interfaces and heterostructures based on diamond. It has been widely recognized that, because of its unique and extraordinary properties, diamond could eventually become the ultimate electronic material. The RTN will train a new skill-base of young researchers in Europe to work in this multidisciplinary field, who can help European industry to exploit the new technology. It is strongly linked to Framework 6 priority 3 (Knowledge-based Multifunctional Materials and Nanotechnology) but also priorities 1, 2, and 5, as explained in Section B.5.
