(...) Prof. Morant approached the subject from the perspective of fundamental rights, in particular the right to freedom of expression. He is Dean of the George Washington Law School, a cooperation partner of the Faculty of Law at the University of Augsburg. He was a guest in Augsburg together with Joshi Shehernaz, Director of the Law School's International Programme. They were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Matthias Rossi, Prof. Dr. Thomas M.J. Möllers, Prof. Dr. Thilo Rensmann, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wurmnest and the two visiting professors Peter Wendel (Pepperdine University) and Ronald Brand (Pittsburgh). Prof. Morant has been honoured by the organisation Equal Justice Works as John R. Kramer Outstanding Law Dean and three times by the National Jurist magazine as one of the most influential figures in legal education. The former president of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) has published numerous papers in his areas of expertise Contract Theory, Media Law and Administrative Law and, before joining George Washington University. He has also taught at the University of Toledo, University of Michigan, University of Alabama and as a visiting lecturer at Oxford University College, among others.
