Only 15% of all PhDs under the age of 45 in Germany work at a university. A fraction of them hold a professorship or a permanent position. The majority of PHDs work in in the business or in the public or non-profit sectors. But how do academics actually find a “good fit” outside their familiar academic environment? And how do they make the transition to other sectors? What career models are possible?

This in-person workshop will provide an overview of a career strategy including self-reflection, visibility and networking (online & offline), as well as application strategies.
