Our June 2026 production

This is Neo Kindl's Lysistrata poster (with a photograph by Harald Capek) for the AnglistenTheater's Summer production

Ellen McLaughlin's Lysistrata

— an adaptation of Aristophanes' notorious sex-comedy about a woman's mission to end the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta by persuading the women of the warring cities to engage in a sex strike as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace.

Four performances on June 18, 19, 22 and 23 attracted a fair-sized audience in spite of the summer heat.

Photographs taken at the dress rehearsal will soon appear here.

And here are some photos taken at the dress rehearsal on June 15.

Intensive Rehearsal Week Sion April 2026 © AnglistenTheater

Would you like to join this group?

This is the AnglistenTheater team coming together for a photo shoot in front of the university's Maison Blanche in Sion (Switzerland) during the intensive rehearsal week for their summer production, Ellen McLaughlin's Lysistrata (after Aristophanes).

We always welcome new members from all parts of the world, whether they would like to be on stage as actors, or rather join our team of creatives, or the backstage and front of house crew. Newcomers need not have a "theatre background", but should have good or very good English, and lots of enthusiasm.
