The Academic Year officially starts on 01 October and ends on 30 September and is divided into two semesters.
 

The winter semester starts in early/mid-October and lectures take place until early February. Exams are held towards the end of the lecture period and the exam period might last until 3-4 weeks after the lecture period has ended.
 

The summer semester starts in early/mid-April and lectures take place until mid-/late July. Exams are held towards the end of the lecture period and the exam period might last until 3-4 weeks after the lecture period has ended.

Exchange students are expected to arrive for the orientation events that take place before the semester begins.
