Sustainability in Teaching
All faculties already offer courses, specialisations and training certificates related to sustainability — complemented by practical and transferable experience. All courses relating to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be viewed below via a central platform.
In addition, the university offers a large number of courses dealing with various aspects of the climate through its annual Public Climate School. Access to continuing education opportunities for all members of the university, particularly in the area of sustainable development, is also ensured as part of its human resources development programme.
Teaching and Education for Sustainable Development
Documentation of courses based on the SDGs
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations are categories used in sustainability rankings, among other things. To participate in these rankings, the courses at the University of Augsburg are assigned to the SDGs to demonstrate how the teaching addresses these sustainability goals.

Public Climate School
With the Public Climate School, the University of Augsburg offers the public a large number of courses dealing with various aspects of the climate. With these public events, the University of Augsburg aims to contribute to imparting scientifically sound knowledge about the climate crisis and raising awareness of the associated issues.

Public events
At the interface between science and society, public events such as the Environmental Studies programme demonstrate how topics related to climate, the environment and sustainability can have an impact beyond university teaching. In this way, the University of Augsburg contributes to bringing sound knowledge into the public discourse.
