Sustainability at the University: our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
As a forward-looking university, we actively contribute to the achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) of the United Nations. These global goals are a comprehensive plan to promote sustainable, equitable and inclusive development – for people, the planet, and our shared prosperity.
In the higher education context, research, teaching, and community engagement play a key role in achieving the SDGs. Through innovative scholarship, inspiring teaching and responsible campus operations, we are committed to addressing local and global challenges. We promote interdisciplinary collaboration and raise awareness of the urgency of issues such as climate protection, social justice and quality education.
Our university is committed to integrating the SDGs into all aspects of our work. We therefore continuously analyse and develop how our research, teaching, and operational processes can contribute to the global goals. On the following pages, you will find concrete examples of our activities that contribute to achieving the SDGs and learn how we are working with students, staff and external partners to bring about positive change.
Together, we want not only to generate knowledge, but also develop solutions that pave the way towards a sustainable future.
