Research Interests

I focus on the following research questions: 

  • How can intellectual property be protected in highly distributed production in the context of industry 4.0? How can confidentiality of individual process steps be guaranteed and the quality of the product still ensured?
  • How can industrial facilities and security features of industrial communication protocols be modelled to generate configurations that ensure integrity, authenticity and confidentiality in process control and monitoring?
  • How can confidential data be protected among multiple participants, each with partial access rights? How can operations on the data still be made possible without revealing information while ensuring that the data itself remains unforgeable?

Institute for Software & Systems Engineering

The Institute for Software & Systems Engineering (ISSE), directed by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Reif, is a scientific institution within the Faculty of Applied Computer Science of the University of Augsburg. In research, the institute supports both fundamental and application-oriented research in all areas of software and systems engineering. In teaching, the institute facilitates the further development of the faculty's and university's relevant course offerings.
