University Hospital of Augsburg

The University Hospital of Augsburg has been funded by the Free State of Bavaria since 1 January 2019. Since October 2019, part of the clinical teaching activities of the Medical Faculty of the University of Augsburg take place here. The main task of the University Hospital continues to be to provide the highest level of patient care. As a hospital of maximum care, the University Hospital of Augsburg offers almost all fields of medicine under one roof for the citizens of the city and district of Augsburg as well as the entire administrative district of Swabia with its approximately two million inhabitants. 24 clinics, three institutes and 19 centres ensure diagnosis and therapy in all medical disciplines. More than 250,000 outpatients and inpatients are treated annually. With approximately 80,000 patients per year, the UKA's emergency department is the second largest in Germany. More than 2,450 children are born at the UKA. With 560 training places, the Academy for Health Professions, which is affiliated to the UKA, is one of the largest training providers in the region.

 

District Hospital Augsburg

Augsburg District Hospital, Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics is the centre of excellence for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics for the Augsburg region. It is funded by Bezirkskliniken Schwaben. With 358 treatment places and 600 employees, this specialist psychiatric clinic is by far the biggest individual clinic in Augsburg University Medicine.
