By plane:

  • From Munich airport to Augsburg central station: Take the underground (S8) to Munich central station and then take a train.
  • Or by private shuttle service: Airport Express

By train:

  • From Augsburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof): At Augsburg central station cross the court and take tram no. 3 (during the day there is a tram every 5 minutes) in the direction "Haunstetten West" to "Berufsbildungswerk / Institut für Physik" (one after "Universität", press "stop" to indicate your intention to exit, takes about 16 min). You are then facing the Institute. We are located in the south part of the buildings (the one with the colorful pillars in front).
    Or by taxi: Starting from the main railway station head in direction "Rotes Tor" and follow the road "Haunstetter Straße". In "Haunstetten" turn right into "Bürgermeister-Ulrich-Straße" up to the turn off "Hugo-Eckener-Straße". Ask the driver to drop you at tram stop "Berufsbildungswerk / Institut für Physik". You are then facing the Institute. We are located in the south part of the buildings (the one with the colorful pillars in front).
  • From Augsburg Haunstetterstraße: When arriving from Munich you can cut the above route short by taking a local train and exiting at the train station "Augsburg Haunstetterstraße". Walk the stairs to street level and take a tram no. 3 from the tram stop "Haunstetter Straße/FH" in the direction "Haunstetten West". Exit at "Berufsbildungswerk / Institut für Physik" (one after "Universität", press "stop" to indicate your intention to exit, takes about 9 min). You are then facing the Institute. We are located in the south part of the buildings (the one with the colorful pillars in front).

By car:

A8 (from Munich or Stuttgart) take exit "Augsburg-West". Go ahead on B17 in the direction Landsberg/Lech, take exit "Friedberg A.-Zentrum Messse-Uni-Zoo". Turn right at the next traffic lights (at the footbridge) into "Universitätsstraße". Go along "Universitätsstraße" and turn right at the sign "PHYSIK". You then face the Institute. We are located in the south part of the buildings (the one with the colorful pillars in front).
