Dr. Christoph Helbig
Short bio
Christoph Helbig studied physics at the University of Augsburg, specializing in theoretical physics and resource strategy. Since November 2013, he has been a research associate at the Chair of Production & Supply Chain Management. In 2018, he completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) on the assessment of supply risks and dissipative losses of metals. Since then, Mr. Helbig has continued his research in Industrial Ecology and is pursuing his Habilitation. His research focuses on global cycles of metals and minerals. The methods used include material flow analyses, life cycle assessments and criticality assessments. Mr. Helbig's teaching includes classical and environmental operations management and, new to the chair, methods of industrial ecology.
Christoph Helbig's profile includes extensive national and international research networking in Industrial Ecology and Life Cycle Management. In addition, he acts as departmental coordinator for study abroad programs (including ERASMUS) for industrial engineering students.
