New publication with co-authorship of Sebastian Utz (CCR-Prof. for Climate Finance) and Prof. Marcus Wagner (CCR-member and Prof. for Innovation & Sustainable Management) on the rating of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

To reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2023, large amounts of investment dollars have to be allocated in alignment with these goals. For an efficient allocation of funds in this regard, market participants make use of the expertise of rating providers that assess companies’ SDG alignment.

The paper “In partnership for the goals? The level of agreement between SDG ratings” shows that the level of agreement of SDG ratings of different providers is rather low. The differences between the SDG ratings are most pronounced for the Energy, Healthcare, and Basic Materials sectors.
