What does the GGS do?

The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences Augsburg (GGS) was established in 2010 to support young researchers in the humanities and social sciences. It involves three faculties:

  • Faculty of Philology and History
  • Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Catholic Theology

The GGS aims to enhance:

  • (Inter- and transdisciplinary) networking
  • Further qualification
  • Internationalization
  • Knowledge transfer
  • Outstanding research
  • Successful and timely completion of doctoral candidates and their dissertation projects

The GGS seeks to provide structural support while embracing new developments in science and research.

In addition to participating in one of the structured doctoral programs, GGS offers its doctoral candidates a comprehensive range of training and qualification events, as well as organizational support and individual guidance.

The coordinators of the doctoral programs receive advisory and organizational support from the GGS.
