English and American Studies (M.A.)

In this degree programme, students deepen their subject knowledge and improve their practical language skills. Through opportunities for interdisciplinary research and numerous project assignments, they receive comprehensive preparation for a wide variety of fields of work. Students can create their personal profile by choosing a major area of study between linguistics and literary studies, as well as that of a minor area from Anglophone and European Cultural Studies, Didactics of English and - depending on the choice of major area - linguistics or literary studies.

Prospective students who have successfully completed the Master's degree programme Anglistik/Amerikanistik Studies at the University of Augsburg or who have conclusively failed this programme can no longer take up the Master's degree programme in English and American Studies.

- Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree with significant focus on English linguistics and/or English and American literary studies;
- English language skills on level C1/C2 CFR (international students must submit a standardized certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL; a first degree from an English-speaking country may be accepted in lieu of such a certificate);
- Under certain circumstances one of these documents can be submitted after the deadline.
- Transcript of records
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree with significant focus on English linguistics and/or English and American literary studies;

- for international students, certification of German skills on level A1 CFR.
