(...) Professor Möllers particularly highlighted Dombrovskis' key role in the introduction of the euro in Latvia in 2014 and in overcoming the financial market crisis in 2009. Dombrovskis was Prime Minister of Latvia from 2009 to 2013. Under Commission President Jean-Claude Junker, he has been Vice-President and Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue since 1 November 2014. He is also in charge of financial stability and the Capital Markets Union. Dombrovskis gave a speech on "How to Make the Euro a Lasting Success", in which he commented on the current state of affairs in the Monetary and Economic Union and gave an outlook for the future.
