The JFZ regularly grants research fellowships. Grantees benefit from substantially reduced teaching duties for the duration of one semester. During that semester, fellows have the opportunity to prepare a major third party funding application for his or her project at the JFZ. 

Fellowships at the JFZ are only granted to researchers who work on major projects with international and interdisciplinary partner networks. Fellowship research needs to open paths towards new and innovative research areas at the University of Augsburg. Fellowships are only awarded to researchers whose projects are at an advanced stage and who are able to submit a major third party funding application at the end of their fellowship semester.
