Materials Science and Engineering (M.Sc.)

Study content:

The Master's degree programme Materials Science and Engineering offers students a specialised scientific education at a high level and with a research-based focus. The degree programme deals with the synthesis, characterisation and processing of all functional classes of materials, for example materials for energy generation, biomaterials, thermoelectronics, semiconductors, carbon fibres and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED).

During the standard study duration of four semesters, Master's students acquire in-depth knowledge in the core areas of materials science, materials physics and materials engineering. The programme is completed with the individual writing of a Master's thesis on a research topic of the student's choice. All lectures and seminars of the Master's programme Materials Science and Engineering are held in English. Therefore, in addition to a completed bachelor's degree in a subject related to materials science, proof of a sound knowledge of English is a prerequisite for admission.
