Research Topic "Automotive Software Engineering"

 

Motivation

Autonomous vehicles are becoming more and more important in today's world. Their fields of application range from transport in the production of highly personalized products in industry to their use in road traffic.

 

 

Problem Statement

Within the scope of the internal research project "Autonomous driving on a scale of 1:8", final theses and project modules are offered. The aim of the project is to enable a model vehicle, implemented on a scale of 1:8, to act autonomously on the software side. In the course of this, topics are distributed that consider partial aspects of the overall functionality. The implementation of the topics is virtualized by executing the vehicle software in a virtual machine.

Research Topic "Distributed Production Systems"

 

Motivation

The individualization of products is also playing an increasingly important role in production. Customers want new special designs or customized workpieces. Often, both are only requested in small quantities. Dynamic production is therefore important in order to be able to react quickly to changing requirements. Dynamic production processes, such as those used in Manufacturing as a Service, are suitable for this.

 

 

Problem Statement

Methods for the distributed coordination and control of individual providers as well as machines are interesting for this. Aspects of autonomy, self-organization and verification, among others, are interesting for this. Machine learning also plays a role for these aspects.
