(...) He presented the different schools of thought of the economic analysis of law, their backgrounds and points of criticism as well as their actual effects in US-American law in the field of tension between "efficiency" and "fairness". In the subsequent discussion, these insights were applied to German actors and a critical examination of the advantages and disadvantages of a standard of interpretation and decision-making based on economic science took place. On the occasion of the lecture, it was announced that the long-standing cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg and the Pepperdine University School of Law will be deepened in the future.
