On May 10, the symposium "Status and Perspectives of Research on Legal Methodology in China and Germany" and the celebration of the fifth German and first Chinese edition of "Juristische Methodenlehre" took place at the Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg. The aim of the symposium was to promote exchange and cooperation between Chinese and German academics in the field of legal methodology and to facilitate in-depth discussion and exchange on this topic.

 

 

The conference was attended by over 60 scholars, including doctoral students and visiting scholars from renowned universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, Renmin University of China, Wu Han University, Nan Jing University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Jiangsu University and Shandong University. Chinese doctoral students of law from various German universities were also present.

 

The symposium was held at two offline venues. The China University of Political Science and Law had a venue for doctoral and master's students of law, led by Professor Lei Lei. At Augsburg University, the Chinese doctoral students of law from 15 German cities and visiting scholars from various fields of law such as constitutional law, civil law and criminal law participated.


Prof. Dr. LiuHua Shen moderated the symposium. Prof. Dr. Möllers gave a keynote lecture on "Legal Skills, Legal Methods and Legal Clinics". The second keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Lei Lei, Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Law of China University of Political Science and Law, who spoke on "The Research of Legal Methodology in China: History, Thesis and Characteristics".


Prof. Dr. Pißler from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and the University of Göttingen, Prof. Dr. Li Hao from the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; Dr. Liu Zhiyang, distinguished professor at the Law School of Jiangsu University and Dr. Yang Xu, postdoc at Tsinghua University and lecturer at Beijing Normal University were invited as commentators.

In the second part of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Möllers presented the 24 students and academics present with the fifth German edition of his work "Juristische Methodenlehre" and the first Chinese edition, as well as the Chinese edition of the book "Juristische Arbeitstechnik".
