Symposium of the Bundesbank and the Money and Currency Foundation
(...) During the symposium, Remsperger was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. The former Bundesbank Executive Board member and Chairman of the Foundation Council of the Stiftung Geld und Währung received the award from Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann.
In his speech, Möllers praised Remsperger's services during 14 years as a member of the Foundation Council as well as the successful cooperation with Friedmann as a "stroke of luck for the Foundation". He particularly emphasised the great commitment and interdisciplinary work of the two previous chairmen Friedmann and Remsperger. He also emphasised the importance of the Stiftung Geld und Währung as a pillar of stability policy. The Stiftung Geld und Währung was established in 2001 to maintain and promote public awareness of the importance of stable money.
