Between 1984 and 1991, after finishing high-school, Thomas Schwartz studied Philosophy and Theology in Münster, Augsburg and Rome, where he was also ordained as a priest. Following his time as a Vicar and receiving his Ph.D. in Moral Theology in Freiburg i. Br., he was director of the catholic university ministry in Augsburg between 1999 and 2009. From 2005 until 2014, Schwartz worked as a professor for Applied Ethics at the Augsburg University of Applied Science. Beyond, he taught Business Ethics and CSR at Augsburg University, Faculty of Business and Economics. In 2014, he received the honorary professorship for Business Ethics at the Augsburg University. He is a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. Since 2010, he is pastor of the Catholic Parish of St. Michael in Mering.
His research focusses on Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethical Leadership.
