Welcome to the Website of the Chair of Analytics & Optimization!
In research and teaching, the Chair of Analytics & Optimization addresses the application of mathematical models and methods, particularly from operations research, for solving real-world decision problems. The main emphasis is on questions arising in the areas of pricing and revenue management, as well as last-mile logistics. To address these questions, we embrace methods from discrete choice analysis, integer programming, and approximate dynamic programming.
Students acquire substantiatal methodical skills and get to know recent applications in services, transportation, logistics, and retail. To this end, current research results are continuously integrated into teaching. In regular guest talks, practitioners provide insights into challenges and opportunities that companies face when implementing the models and methods presented in the chair’s courses.
State-of-the-art standard software packages are used for practical implementation in teaching, research, and industry projects.
