The Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum - a Center for Transnational Studies - is an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented research center at the University of Augsburg, which merges, connects and brings together research foci and key issues in the cultural sciences, humanities and social sciences and promotes their public visibility. It encourages academic exchange between its members, coordinates international cooperation, organizes conferences, facilitates the publication of research results and offers support in the administration and acquisition of third-party funds.

The Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum distributes grants for

Visiting Fellowships for transnational research

for the Summer Semester 2023.

This call for applications enables full members of the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum to host qualified scientists and scholars at the University of Augsburg for a maximum of 6 months. The visiting professorship should ideally be connected with the planning and/or implementation of a research project at the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum. The visiting professor can teach courses at the University of Augsburg for up to 7 semster hours a week.

The Visiting Fellowship will be funded for a maximum of 6 months and will be remunerated on a flat-rate basis in accordance with the current DFG staff funding rates for professorships. The Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum management team decides on the applications for the invitation of a visiting professor.

Applications for a Research Fellowship should include the following documents:

• Name, contact details, home institution and planned duration of stay of the guest to be invited to Augsburg
• CV and publication list of the guest
• Prospective titles and number of courses (total of semster hours a week) to be taught at the University of Augsburg
• Specifications regarding the involvement of the visiting professor in a research project at the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum
