International Business Law (Postgraduate studies) (LL.M.)

Study content:

The two-semester postgraduate programme serves to supplement the basic legal education by acquiring special knowledge in a specialised field. The academic training takes place in the main areas of banking, corporate, tax and labour law such as intellectual property law. In the course of their studies, students deepen their understanding of German, European and international business law as well as acquire language and cultural skills.

  1. Proof of a German higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) OR current certificate of enrolment
  2. Proof of the First or Second State Examination in Law or
    the First Examination in Law in the Federal Republic of Germany or
    Proof of a degree in "Diplomwirtschaftsjurist (Universität)" or
    Proof of an equivalent degree (see Section 4 (1) No.1  of the Study and Exam regulations)
    including a transcript of records
  3. Proof of advanced knowledge of a foreign language (see Section 4 (3) of the Study and Exam regulations)
  4. Proof of a semester abroad at a law faculty of a European (non-German-speaking) university (see Section 4 (1) No. 3 of the Study and Exam regulations)
  1. Proof of a foreign university entrance qualification OR a current certificate of enrolment
    [if the original is not in German or English: submission of a certified copy or a certified translation by a translator sworn in Germany]
  2. Proof of a degree in Law or
    an equivalent degree (see Section 4 (1) No. 1 of the Study and Exam regulations)
    including a Transcript of Records

  3. APS certificate: For applicants from China, India and Vietnam
  4. Proof of advanced knowledge of a foreign language (see Section 4 (3) of the Study and Exam Regulations), if German is the applicant’s native language.
  5. Proof of German language skills at least at level C1 (CEFR), if German is not the applicant’s native language.
  6. Proof of a semester abroad (or similar) at a law faculty (see Section 4 (1) No. 3 of the Study and Examination Regulations)
